Priscilla is all thumbs

This is a photo of Phil's most recent attempt to get out of the dishes.

See the squiggly dark lines between the two joints and the chipped bit on the right hand side of the top joint? That's a broken thumb and its what happens when hockey ball meets hockey stick to create a thumb sandwich.

Fortunately, the brilliant British health system is right on top of things and he can be assessed by a specialist who will determine if he needs an operation next Wednesday evening. That's over a week after it happened! I suspect by the time he has the operation it will be all healed and they'll have to re-break it to fix it. It's ridiculous!

In other news, I had my first blind date ever this week. My mum met a lovely couple at my cousin's wedding back in March and discovered that they also live in London, so this week Phil and I met up with Alice and a group of her Australian friends for a night out at the theatre. We saw Priscilla Queen of the Desert the musical starring none other that Jason Donavon!! It was brilliant - lively, colourful, fun and full of Aussie-ness - a great taste of home. My only gripe was that they found so many guys that look better in a dress than I do!
